Finale vs. Sibelius

I am a music major with an emphasis in composition and film score.  I currently use Finale Allegro 2007 and I have been having a lot of problems with it lately.  It will start imputing notes randomly all by itself and erase all of my hard work.  It gets really frustrating because I will fix it all and then it does it again.  I end up just closing the program.  This poses a problem because I have a semester project I need to start and I am also in the middle of a few smaller projects.  So, I am looking to either upgrade to Finale 2011 or switch to Sibelius 7.  Which do you think is better and why?  I look forward to your input.  =)  Thanks!

Fifties Birthday Dress

This year was my 20th birthday. My parents threw me a wonderful vintage country themed party in our backyard. I have always loved vintage things, especially the forties and fifties. I decided that I wanted to have a dress to go with the theme of my party. So, I found a beautiful retro pattern from Butterick (B4919), cute red with white polka dot fabric, and set to work. I had one week until the day of my party. This is the end result...

I sewed my very first zipper... and it was an invisible zipper. I watched a bunch of videos online to learn how to sew an invisible zipper. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I DID IT... And, after hours of hand stitching, IT'S INVISIBLE!

I got my dress done in time for my party and I absolutely love the way it turned out. =)

One day I noticed that I needed a new wallet.  So, I started looking for one to buy, but all the ones in the store where just not what I wanted.  They were either too small, too big, or a weird design.  I really liked the wallet I had so I decided to make one.  I had some scrap leather that I had been wanting to use so i picked out some fabric to match and set to work.  It took some trial and error before I got what I wanted but this is the finished project...

It came out just like I hoped it would and it is the perfect size, design, and color.  The best part is... it was free!   I love it!  =)

Ceramics

These are some of my creations from my first semester in ceramics.  The class was so much more fun than I thought it would be.

This is a goblet that I made my grandma for Christmas.  The picture was taken before I glazed it.  When it was finished, the flowers were a peach color, the leaves were green, and the rest was white.

We had to make a pair of shoes, so I made my bike shoes.  They now sit on my dad's nightstand.  He loves them.

My Utah Bowls.

Swirly Vases.

I am loving ceramics and I'm taking it again this semester.
