Fifties Birthday Dress

This year was my 20th birthday. My parents threw me a wonderful vintage country themed party in our backyard. I have always loved vintage things, especially the forties and fifties. I decided that I wanted to have a dress to go with the theme of my party. So, I found a beautiful retro pattern from Butterick (B4919), cute red with white polka dot fabric, and set to work. I had one week until the day of my party. This is the end result...

I sewed my very first zipper... and it was an invisible zipper. I watched a bunch of videos online to learn how to sew an invisible zipper. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I DID IT... And, after hours of hand stitching, IT'S INVISIBLE!

I got my dress done in time for my party and I absolutely love the way it turned out. =)
